Here's what's up at zKorean…

Wishes for the New Year (lunar new year)

I’m working on my secret list of zKorean goodies, but I want to know what you are looking to get out of zKorean.

What would you like to see at zKorean?

Sorry, another idea I thought of: the thing where you can study random dictionary words is great, but honestly, 90% of the words are obscure words that no one would ever use. You should have a way to randomly learn more commonly used words. This website has lists of more commonly used vocabulary that could be used for reference: http://ezcorean.com/korean_vocabulary/common_korean_vocabulary

I'm trying this out as a subscriber right now. With a few changes, you might keep my business a little longer...
  • This has come to mind, and may be implemented in the future. Everyone has different things that are studying, but I can see the value of a common list of must-know words.

And also, it would be nice to be able to have different lists, and be able to share them. I like the way, that you can use the audio flashcards, but the flashcard system is just too primitive right now. I'd love to see it more developed... or am I totally missing something that I haven't seen?
  • Nothing yet on board for sharing flashcards or multiple sets. I'm trying to keep the flashcard interface nice and clean, and adding and removing cards as quick as possible. Extra sets would slow it down.

I've noticed that when I learn a flashcard, and then click the "I know it" button, there's no way to get it back into my list after that. Even if I go back to the dictionary, it's already checked and I can't add it again. Maybe there's a way to do this I don't know about, but if not, it would be nice to be able to.
  • This is on my list. Will have your known words list that you can remove or send back to flashcards.

I can only think of one thing, but it might sound pretty minor. It would be nice to have a 'counter' for how many flashcards a person has added to their personal deck/set to study. There is a big difference between 20 and 84. Or 206. So it would be nice to have a number somewhere that keeps track of how many words I'm currently learning.

That's all, really. I love this site. Thanks for the hard work :-)
  • Sounds like a nice addition - you got it. It's on my list.
