From Reference

Koreans will go out of their way to accommodate visitors or help them solve any problems that may come up. You might find, that if you ask for directions, a local will escort you to your destination.

Foreign visitors, ¿Ü±¹ÀÎ "wi guk-in" or more formally ¿Ü±¹ºÐ "wi guk-bun", are not expected to be adept at all Korean social customs. This includes forms of speech such as formal, casual, same-level, low-form and high form speech.

In general, Koreans are really outgoing and friendly when around people they know, but are often reserved around strangers. Consequently, some people will be embarrassed at first when approached by someone speaking English, but they'll still try to help. While your attempts to speak Korean might elicit giggles initially, your efforts to communicate are sure to be highly appreaciated! ^_^;

Hello -- ¾È³çÇϼ¼¿ä -- annyong haseyo

Goodbye -- ¾È³çÈ÷°è¼¼¿ä -- annyong hee kye seyo (This is polite way, when you're leaving)

Goodbye -- ¾È³çÈ÷°¡¼¼¿ä -- annyong hee kaseyo (This is polite way, when you're staying)

English speakers may feel inclined to use the expression Á˼ÛÇÕ´Ï´Ù whenever they're bumped into on the street. Koreans generally reserve Á˼ÛÇÕ´Ï´Ù for something more serious

In Korean, there are many ways to say thank you. The most two common ways to say thank you are:-

°í¸¿½À´Ï´Ù -- go map seum ni da

and

°¨»çÇÕ´Ï´Ù -- kam sa ham ni da

The two words are different, only in their origin. The first one being "Pure Korean" and the second one being "Sino-Korean"

You can also use:-

°í¸¶¿ö¿ä - goma wuh yo -- thank you

and
