Direction (¿¡¼­, ¿¡°Ô¼­, ÇÑÅ×¼­)

'¿¡¼­' is used only with action verbs (to go, to hit, to drive) to indicate where the action is happening.

PC¹æ¿¡¼­ À̸ÞÀÏÀ» º¸³Â¾î.
I sent an e-mail at the PC room.
(PC room-at e-mail sent.)


Ä£±¸°¡ Çб³¿¡¼­ ±â´Ù¸³´Ï´Ù.
My friend is waiting at school.
(Friend school-at waiting.)


'¿¡¼­' is also used to indicate a point of departure.

¾îµð¿¡¼­ ¿À¼Ì½À´Ï±î?
Where are you from?
(Where-from came?)


»÷ÇÁ¶õ½Ã½ºÄÚ¿¡¼­ ½Ã¾ÖƲ±îÁö ¾ó¸¶³ª ¸Ù´Ï±î?
How far is it from San Francisco to Seattle?
(San Francisco-from Seattle-to how far?)


'¿¡°Ô¼­' and 'ÇÑÅ×¼­' are like their counterparts '¿¡°Ô' and 'ÇÑÅ×' above but instead of indicating an action to a person or animal, they point out action from a person or animal. '¿¡°Ô¼­' and 'ÇÑÅ×¼­' can be used interchangeably.

»ïÃÌ¿¡°Ô¼­ ¿ëµ·À» ¹Þ¾Ò¾î.
I got some money from my uncle.
(Uncle-from money received.)


Ä£±¸ÇÑÅ×¼­ ¼Ò¹®À» µé¾ú¾î.
I heard a rumor from a friend.
(Friend-from rumor heard.)
